Important Notes When Participating in Health Insurance

For first-time policyholders, the insurance becomes valid after the following waiting periods from the policy start date listed on the Certificate of Insurance:

  • 30 days for illnesses and diseases (this includes the time from illness onset to the end of treatment — calculated from the onset date, not treatment date).
  • 90 days for pregnancy complications as defined, from the effective date stated on the Certificate of Insurance.
  • 1 year for pre-existing conditions and conditions listed under General Exclusion No. 36 in this policy.
  • 1 year for specific illnesses as defined.
  • Cancer is not covered.
  • 6 months for children under 6 years old for bronchitis, bronchiolitis, and various types of pneumonia.

When requesting an insurance payout, the insured person or the beneficiary must submit the following documents to Bảo Việt within 60 days from the date of hospital discharge, medical stabilization, or death:

√ Claim form (completed using Bảo Việt's template)

√ Certificate of Insurance

√ Accident report with confirmation from local authorities or police (in case of accident)

√ All documents related to medical treatment and costs: hospital discharge papers, treatment records, test results, prescriptions, surgical notes (if surgery was required), invoices, receipts, etc.

√ Death certificate and legal proof of inheritance (in case the insured has died)

√ Insurance payout will be made to the insured or their legal beneficiary.
